The app processes file bytes on your device. No account, file upload service, advertising SDK or analytics SDK is included. Recent records are kept only for the current app session.
A precise promise
MetaQuiet targets documented metadata fields and blocks, preserves supported rendering data and rescans the output. It does not claim complete anonymization, forensic sanitization, signature validity or universal compatibility with every file variant.
The tools behind the product
Photo field reading uses exifr. PDF rewriting uses pdf-lib; Office property processing uses fflate. Metadata removal uses MetaQuiet format-specific adapters. ExifTool and mat2 informed the research but are not bundled cleaning engines.
Evidence and limits
Synthetic and encoded fixtures check source preservation, repeated cleanup and malformed input handling. Independent decoders compare selected image, audio and video outputs. A passing fixture suite is not proof that every real-world file is safe or that every private field is removed.
